Disciplinary Procedure
Employment law can be complicated, and few people have a clear idea of all their rights at work. In some circumstances there are particular steps you must follow to resolve problems with your employer before you can take a complaint to an employment tribunal. The first step should be a discussion with your manager and depending on the outcome then to initiate the employer’s grievance procedure (if any). Importantly there are specific deadlines for applying to the tribunal and prior to making an application ACAS must be contacted. Any delay in making a complaint can be considered as affirmation of your work situation and three month is the time limit to make an application to the employment tribunal.
